HAPPY 30th

I just clicked through a to a blog from a commenter in Sparkleland and read something I think you will find interesting

I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army when I was 21. I served over eight years as an Infantry Officer. Now I am done. The period of time between my 21st birthday and 30th birthday is a blur. With over 3 years in combat zones and the bulk of the other 5 years in remote training areas, I was removed from society for most of my adult life. Even when in garrison, due to the long hours required to get all of our tasks accomplished, society seemed like a foreign concept, not an actual thing...
