YOUNIVERSITY

Unless we bring down the Towers of Babble and proclaim the American Evolution, where we the people begin to have heart-to-heart conversations across the "red-blue divide" and come front and centre to face the reality: The "American Empire" is un-American. The vast majority don't benefit from the wealth extracted by the multinational economy. Judging by the growing gap between rich and poor and the disappearing middle class, America has been re-colonized by a new self-proclaimed "King George."

As with the Biblical Tower of Babel , the Babble is keeping the American people from finding a common language. Very rarely will the media offer a thoughtful discussion seeking common ground. Instead, there is ranting and raving, fear-mongering and intentional misunderstanding. For it would be dangerous indeed for the progressive left and the libertarian right to compare notes and find they are tossing harpoons at the same leviathan from two different directions.

Author needs to get a job.

I'm not sure if he puts his money where his mouth is and communicates with the other side as he is suggesting others do. He's been involved in some clubs which hold memories in my fondly remembered past.

I am being a little flippant about 'get a job'. Only a little. If he would work for a living he would fnd himself in the non-disappearing 'middle class' pretty quickly.

There is work and there is "achieving something" though. I think at the time the club he was involved with became a midweek hub for those of us who were trying to perpetuate an achievement with acid, visuals and music at the weekend. I'm not quite sure what we achieved though, and my rewards certainly weren't financial.
