A new opportunity exists to join the Communications team in the Conservative Party as a camera operator/editor.

You will be responsible for producing short fly-on-the-wall filmed packages for the internet and other media, working with both Conservative politicians and members of the public.

A self-starter, you will:

· Have the ability to both film and edit footage into short packages in a time-pressured environment to close deadlines. Filming will take place across the country.
· Have experience in DVCam cameras and have the ability to operate handheld cameras and Avid Express - equipment which will be provided by The Conservative Party.
· Have the ability to get the best out of people in front of the camera, and work as a team player within Communications teams.
· Provide ongoing creative input as to how best to use filmed content to deliver the Party’s strategic objectives.

We value diversity and welcome applications from all sections of the community. We appoint on merit.

also via Daves Part:

Blah! Party leader Captain Sensible, the ‘70s & ‘80s punk icon, founded the party after years of continual political disillusionment. He comments: “Politics is dead. The British public aren’t voting because the parties are totally ignoring their opinions. At the moment, the only real method of mass protest against this is by not voting, which is why voting figures continue to fall.

“But we believe that voting is an important part of the democratic process, and we want the Blah! Party to be the party of protest;
a channel through which the people of the UK can vent their dissatisfaction at nonsensical everyday things, and protest against the government and the current crop of political parties.
