SYMBOLISM

I don't understand people who try to shape public conciousness with symbolism. The 7/7 and 9/11 bombers symbolicaly "attack America" and "Britain". No they don't. They kill random innocent people which does nothing for their cause however valid. The US symbolicaly "round up" some Muslims from Afghanistan to pretend they are doing something about the perpetrators of 9/11. No you're not, you're being dense and stupid and turning whatever good will there was in the Muslim community after 9/11 against you. Fuck you. Fuck you all. Fuck your symbolism.

Yeah, I can understand that in both cases its been twisted by fear and exasperation.

Both reactions are about REVENGE above all else aren't they?

When revenge gets communal innocents get killed.

War is business. As long as the profiteers can convince the masses -of the legitimacy of conflict- it will persist.

The West is drunk on $hort-view techno-pragamatism, while the East holds fast to tradition. Conflict results from the contrast, but like Jimmy Hendrix said:

"When the power of love becomes stronger than the love of power, we will have peace."

Symbolism is only a contextual tool, and like most tools, can be a drag.

Your a bit of a tool sometimes, too.

I meant 'you're' a tool...,
not 'your' a tool...,
as in 'you ARE a tool...'
